Safari Overview

This Gorilla Tracking Tour takes you to Lake Mburo National Park for game drive and a boat ride on the Lake in search for wildlife then to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorilla trekking, to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel and game drive and then to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Wetland walk and thereafter drive back to Entebbe for your flight out.

Day by Day - Itinerary

Arrival in Uganda

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for game drive and boat ride on the Lake

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking experience

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park

Day 5: Game drives and Kazinga channel Boat cruise
Day 6: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Day 7: Chimp tracking and Bigodi swamp nature walk
Day 8: Return to Kampala

Arrival Day

  • You’ll be picked from the airport (or hotel)

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National park

After breakfast, our guide will drive to Lake Mburo National Park through the small towns of Uganda. Make a stopover at the Equator line for photograph and some informative talks and experiments. Enjoy an en route game drive as you drive to your lodge \ hotel for check in and lunch. After lunch you will have a boat on the lake in search for hippos, Crocodiles and water birds among others and an evening game drive.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National park

Our tour guide / driver shall pick you from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe early morning and set off a scenic drive south west of Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You will have stop over at the equator for photography and experimentation and lunch in Mbarara town. You will reach Bwindi in the evening for Dinner and overnight at the safari lodge or hotel. The park is a heritage to the popular mountain Gorillas left in the wild ,these wild apes inhabiting this park are recorded to be over 50% of the world's population. While driving to this region, you will be thrilled with an amazing experience of the topography made of hills, valleys and the beautiful sceneries of Virunga, Mgahinga and Muhavura mountains though from a distance to either Rushanga or Ruhija sections for gorilla trekking

Day 3: Gorilla trekking adventure 

Early morning at 6 am, you will prepare yourself and have breakfast before gathering at the park headquarters at 7 am with your packed lunch to be briefed about the dos and don’ts while with the gorillas. You will then proceed to trek the gorillas in the forest at 8:30 am, an experience that will take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the apes on the day. After spending an hour with the gorillas, descend back to the lodge for refreshment. In the evening, you may go for a nature walk or cultural walk to the Batwa communities for Batwa trail experience that leads you to the lives of the ancient people of the forest.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

This morning you will depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, be prepared for some incredible scenery along the way. You will arrive in time for Lunch at the lodge and an evening game drive in the plains of Kasenyi in search for savannah wildlife that may include herds of buffaloes, antelopes, elephants and if lucky, some wild cats such as lions and leopard.

Day 5: Morning game drives and boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

After early morning Breakfast, you will head to back to the plains of Kasenyi for the early morning game drive to try to find what could have missed the previous day. Lunch will be served at the lodge and after you will head to the kazinga channel for the afternoon boat cruise. This cruise offers you chances of viewing animals like: hippos, water birds, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles and many other wildlife which flop the channel for drinking water.

Day 6: Morning Game drive and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After an early breakfast, drive to the northern bank of Queen Elizabeth National Park (kasenyi) area in searches the wild animals which include: Elephants, Buffalos, and the wild cats, Savanna birds and different species of antelopes such water buck Uganda kobs among others. After lunch you will depart for Kibale Forest National Park for Chimpanzee Trekking experience. Kibale Forest National Park contains about 70 mammals specifies including 13 species of primate such as mangabey monkeys, olive baboon monkey, Blue monkeys, Black and white Colobus monkeys, Red colobus monkeys, L’Hoests’ monkeys, Red tailed monkeys, the grey vervet monkey and chimpanzees. The forest is a natural environment much like the western Africa lowlands forests as well as Afro-Montana.  Other than primates you will find 351 shrubs plus tree species, butterflies, 375 bird species as well as other mammals. You will arrive at the hotel to freshen up and have a rest in preparation for the next day's chimpanzee trekking.

Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi swamp nature walk

After the early morning breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for the briefing about the chimpanzee trekking Dos and Don'ts.You will then begin your guided chimpanzee trekking.

After locating the chimpanzees, you will be allowed to spend one hour with the primates however for chimpanzee habituation, you can even spend a full day.During this walk you will have chances of seeing many of the 13 primate species native to Kibale Forest National Park. After lunch you will drive to Bigodi for a swamp walk. This wetland belongs to community neighboring the park.
