Safari Overview
Our 5 Day Ishasha tree-climbing lions and Queen Elizabeth safari is specifically designed for those that what to discover the tree lions of Uganda and would love to explore what Queen Elizabeth National Park has to offer in terms of game viewing and boat excursions. Queen Elizabeth is divided into sectors by the Kazinga Channel (Southern and the Northern sectors), the Northern sector allows you to view the wildlife in the lush savannah vegetation, and the southern sector is mainly for the Tree climbing Lions and spectacular views of acacia thickets bushland. The 32 KM Kazinga channel gives endless stunning views of the crocodile, schools of hippos, Elephants swimming and close to 600 different bird species.

Day by Day - Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Day 2: Game drives and Afternoon boat ride
Day 3: Depart for Ishasha sector
Day 5: Depart for Kampala / Entebbe

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
You will be picked from your lodge / hotel / airport early morning to transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The Broveny Safaris guide will first brief you on what to expect, drive time and ensure that you have the right gear for your 5 Day Ishasha tree climbing lions and Queen Elizabeth NP safari. This journey will take you through small towns along Kampala-Mbarara road. You will have an opportunity to see royal drum makers along the way, small markets and a stop at the Equator for stretching and photography will be worthwhile. Lunch will be served en route and then proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a short relaxation and an evening game drive if time allows.

Day 2: Game Drives and Boat Safari
After your early morning breakfast, you will drive to Kasenyi plains for your early morning game drive. Kasenyi plains boost several wild animals whose chance of seeing them depends on your luck of the day. On a good day, you may spot big cats like lions and leopards hunting, buffaloes, elephants, several antelopes, warthogs, and other small mammals. Return to the lodge for lunch and then drive to Mweya peninsular for a 2-3 hour boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. Kazinga channel has the highest concentration of hippos in the whole world, over 600 bird species, and is a place where most animals converge to quencher their thirst. You will have high chances of spotting hippos, birds, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles and so much more. Retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Depart for Ishasha
Enjoy an early morning game drive, check out of your Lodge, and drive 2-3 hours to the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park otherwise known as Ishasha. Enjoy your lunch and thereafter relax, a drive to the Ishasha community uplift project to observe how the local community living near the park co-exist with wildlife harmoniously. You will visit a model family that will take you around to show you approaches used to stop animals from feeding on their crops and animals and will explain challenges faced and demonstrate opportunities available for both the community and wildlife conservation. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Game Drives in Ishasha
The day begins early with early morning breakfast then set off for an early morning game drive along Ishasha plains for a memorable experience of tree climbing lions. Ishasha is popular for tree-climbing lions and the chances of seeing them climbing depend on your luck of the day. Ishasha has other animals like Buffaloes, Elephants, Antelopes, and many others. You may also drive to River Ishasha to see the border of Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Return to the Lodge for Lunch and then evening game drive in Ishasha.

Day 5: Depart for Kampala
After your early morning breakfast, will depart for Kampala having experienced all the fascinating Queen Elizabeth National Park nature. Return to Kampala arriving late evening to catch up your flight back home or for a post tour overnight.
