This 3 Day gorilla trek in Rwanda will take you to Volcanoes National Park situated only 3 hours drive from Kigali city. The adventure involves trekking through local villages and the lush rain forests to meet the Gorillas.

 

Tour Itinerary

 

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National park.
You will be picked by your tour guide from the airport on arrival or from your hotel in Kigali and go for optional city tour to visit the Gisozi genocide memorial, Nyamata church, local markets among other areas of interest. You will then drive to volcanoes National park in Ruhengeri with spectacular view of the virunga Mountain ranges. Dinner and overnight at Muhabura Hotel(basic)/Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge(deluxe)/Mountain Gorilla View Lodge(Luxury).

 

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and cultural walk.
You will wake up early for breakfast and then transfer to the park headquarters by 7:00am to start the briefing about the dos and don’ts with the gorillas. You will then be allocated the gorilla tracking group and then the driver will drive you up to the starting point of the gorilla tracking group allocated and then ascend the forest for the memorable adventure. Once you see the gorillas, a maximum of one hour is allowed to stay with them before descending back to the starting point. On descent, you will meet your driver/guide and drive back to your Lodge for refreshment. In the evening, you may go for a cultural walk to Iby’wachu where you will be entertained in Banyarwanda traditional songs and learn more about their culture. Dinner and overnight stay at your Lodge.

 

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali and Departure
In the morning after a relaxed breakfast, you will set off back to Kigali reaching early for shopping if necessary and later transfer to the airport to check in for your departure flight.

Most lions drink water daily if available, but can go four or five days without it. Lions in arid areas seem to obtain needed moisture from the stomach contents of their prey.
